New special gear for the motorized top cover/door in the following Bang & Olufsen models:
Beocord 3500
Beocord 4500
Beogram CD3500
Beogram CD4500
The original gear is often found broken, causing malfunction of the motorized top cover, typically resulting in a whirring or even screeching noise from the gearbox when the lid is opening or closing, and the cover won’t open or close.
The noise can also come right when the unit is connected to mains, because the electronics is made to drive the lid closed at mains on.
The new gear is a direct replacement for the original gear, which is part of Bang & Olufsen assy part# 2852051 (“Pulley”).
Only the plastic gear is replaced. All original screws, arms, spindles, other gears etc. are reused.

Need fresh long-term grease for the gearbox – find it here (TS-005)
For the motor bearings (particularly if noisy/screeching) a small amount of spindle oil could be needed. Find it here (TS-010).
Worth replacing the belt while in there. Find a new belt here (BS-035).
